Spring Bound

Green Vest, Vintage Military Jacket, Stripe Sweater, Printed Overall Onesie: thrifted/Boots: Kenneth Cole Reaction/Bracelets & Rings: Antique Shop

Although the weather here in the hills is still quite cold, I decided to wear one of my favorite overall onesies.  Yes, it's cold but I didn't really care much today, I am so ready for Spring. I needed to wear that certain outfit that makes you feel good inside when you wear it and this outfit does just that for me.  I had an appointment today with the Dentist (extraction)...yeah it was fun...if you really look at my cheek you can sort of see the puff from the cotton/gauze...surprisingly though I felt no pain.  I hope the rest of my day goes the same.
Anyhow - hope you are all having a great day...smile!

My Surroundings...

My friend Liza and I on her mountain enjoying some Cava...

Here are just glimpses of my daily life in the country.  It really is beautiful, I never thought I would ever be living in the country. I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey, married and moved to NYC...so I do see myself as a city girl but now living in the country has certainly changed that...there is beauty  everywhere.  The mountains, architecture, farms, and farm animals - there is so much to see and do - cannot wait for the summer!

Where ever your surroundings may be, just take a little time to really enjoy what you see...you may not realize what you take for granted...have a great weekend!

Train Tracks...

Coat: JCrew/Sweater: thrifted/Harley Davidson Shirt: thrifted/Jeans: thrifted/Hat: Vintage/Boots: Vintage/Horn Necklace: Forever21/Watch Necklace: Vintage/Sunnies: Vintage

I am finding myself to be more restless than normal...I have been taking long walks down the train tracks. It's really cool where I live since it's so rural - you see so much wildlife. I decided to take a long stroll the other day, so I layered up the best I could...wearing my favorite vintage sweater and topping it off with my Harley denim shirt.  Of course, I could not leave the house without a hat...I hope the weather breaks soon, the summers here are gorgeous!  Hope you are all having a wonderful day and please stay warm!

 Talk toyou soon,

Military Cargo & Prints

Military Cargo Jacket, Top, Jeans, Printed Jacket: thrifted/Horn Necklace: vintage/Indian Choker: Vintage/Beaded Necklace: vintage/Bracelets: American Eagle/Studded Bracelet: Etsy/Rings: vintage/Fossil Watch: thrifted/Boots: True Religion

It's was a bit chilly out yesterday but luckily I was able to take a few shots. I am in love with my vintage military cargo jacket. I scored this baby for two bucks about two years ago at my local thrift shop and have not stop wearing it since.  It has a great length and I can adjust the waist...I can wear this jacket with anything and it still looks good. I can dress it up or down. Due to the cold, I still needed to layer up here in the mountains so I piled on a few layering tops - most of which were sheer. The plum printed color v-neck that I am wearing is more like a tunic fit...and I topped that off with a really cool printed jacket. I cannot wait to wear this with  strappy dresses in the summer.  Lastly, my favorite jeans...they are broken in just right - I need to give them a rest though...I am sure we all have certain item(s) that we go to daily and we cannot get enough of. It's that one thing you rely on that can pull an entire outfit together...as a Mom, I do not have much time and  need to get myself together quickly so I have mastered this for myself. I have also learned to invest in key pieces and you will never go wrong...

What go to item do you have in your closet?

Well, it certainly is getting bitterly cold now, so thanks for stopping by and stay warm. If you are in Texas at SXSW ~ please bring me back some SUN! I need it so bad right now...

                                                                                  Be well,

All about the layers

Plaid Overalls Dress: thrifted/Stripe Henley Top: thrifted/Vintage Denim Jacket: thrifted/Vintage Men's Coat: thrifted/Beanie: Forever21/Arm Warmers: made by me Etsy seller: (harryandthehippechic)/Vintage Boots: thrifted/Ring: flea market find/Necklace: Etsy seller: UberKuchi

I love living in the Catskill Mountains but the winters here are soooo cold...layering is a must.  I think it's something I have become good at doing over the years, it is a lot more complicated than some people think, you do not want to pile on the clothing and then look bulky and bag lady like.  I spent my day running errands and taking my kids here and there and I did stay warm. I wore my cozy and oh so warm plaid overalls dress, a striped henley, denim jacket and my favorite men's vintage coat and my vintage boots.  Another great thing about my layered items, they were mostly ALL thrifted...that's a huge obsession of  mine.  Anyhow, hope you all stay warm and hopefully Spring will be here soon!

I would love to know how you all layer up to stay warm this winter ?

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
